graphic design biennial workshop

Type design workshop for the 2019 graphic design biennial of Chaumont, animated by the polish designer Jan Bajtlik.

Creation of a modular typography with a handwritten look, inspired by oriental calligraphy. This one is staged in an installation exposed to the public.

"Participants in this workshop are given carte blanche for their production in terms of form, message and technique. Whether it is a poster or a series of posters, a typo, a motif (linked to industrial design), a textile (linked to fashion), a book, street art . . . the participants are free to choose! There is only one constraint: the design must have two layers: the first is the grid from which the composition originates, the second, which is necessarily independent of that grid, must be free from the rules of composition. The discussion will focus on the interaction between organization and disorganization, between art, design and communication, and how to find a ground of freedom within this formal constraint.", Le Signe
